The company is headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey and currently employs 4,085 full-time employees. The company went IPO on 2002-07-01. The firm provides financing, leasing and advisory services, principally to middle-market companies in a range of industries, primarily in North America. The company also provides banking and related services to commercial and individual customers through its banking subsidiary, CIT Bank, N.A. (the Bank), which includes a regional branch network of approximately 80 branches and its online bank. The firm operates through two segments: Commercial Banking and Consumer Banking. Commercial Banking segment is comprised of four divisions, commercial finance, rail, real estate finance and business capital. Consumer Banking segment includes the consumer and community banking and legacy consumer mortgages (LCM) divisions. Retail banking, consumer lending, community development lending and Small Business Administration (SBA) lending are offerings within consumer and community banking.
