This screen finds stocks that are trading just above a support line. A sell stop order can be put in place as soon as the price breaks down the support level. Another possibility is to buy the stock if a false breakdown occurs and the price is pushed up again.

Stock Screener Settings

Average Volume: 50 SMA > 500K

This filter excludes all stocks that have a lower daily average volume than 500K.

Support Strength: S1 Strength > 4

The support line should have a minimum strength of 4. This means that the support line was tested at least 4 times in the past.

Support Length: S1 Length > 50

The support line should have a minimum length of 50 days.

Exchange/Fund: US Only

This filter excludes all non US stocks.

ETF: none

This filter excludes all ETFs.

Price: Above 5

This filter excludes all stocks that are trading below 5 dollar.

Support: close 3% from S1

This filter finds stocks that are trading above, but close to the support line
