The iShares MBS ETF seeks to track the investment results of an index composed of investment-grade mortgage-backed pass-through securities issued and/or guaranteed by U.S. government agencies. The Fund seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the Barclays Capital U.S. MBS Index (the Underlying Index). The Underlying Index measures the performance of investment grade mortgage- backed pass-through securities issued by the Government National Mortgage Association (GNMA), Federal National Mortgage Association and Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (FHLMC). The Underlying Index includes fixed- rate mortgage pass-through securities issued by GNMA, FHLMC and FNMA that have 30-, 20-, 15-year maturities as well as hybrid adjustable rate mortgages (ARMs).
