GENEVA (Reuters) -Jobs traditionally done by women are more vulnerable to the impact of artificial intelligence than those done by men, especially in high-income countries, a report by the United Nations' International Labour Organization showed on Tuesday. It found 9.6% of traditionally female jobs were set to be transformed compared with 3.5% of those carried out by men as AI increasingly takes on administrative tasks and transforms clerical jobs, such as secretarial work. Jobs in the media, software and finance-related roles are also at the forefront of change as generative AI expands its learning abilities.

(Reuters) -Tapestry on Thursday raised its 2025 revenue and profit forecasts for a third time this year, benefiting from higher full-price sale of its popular Coach handbags and limited exposure to the sweeping U.S. tariffs. Steady demand for the company's Tabby, Brooklyn and Empire leather handbags among younger shoppers in North America, Europe and China helped it beat third-quarter results expectations. "Tapestry, has found a sweet spot in the luxury food chain ... siphoning off high-end customers now reconsidering whether they really need a five-figure handbag," said Michael Ashley Schulman, chief investment officer at Running Point Capital Advisors.
The rally in the currencies since last week, starting with the Taiwan dollar and spreading outwards to those of China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and South Korea, sounds a warning for the greenback, and is seen as an "Asian crisis in reverse". "Most of our clients are Asian, so if their own currency is growing, that gives them more purchasing power for wealth management products," Tan Su Shan, chief executive of Singapore's biggest bank DBS Group, said on Thursday. A strong Singapore dollar would help bring a "pool of wealth" into the leading global wealth management hub said Leong Yung Chee, the chief financial officer of its United Overseas Bank or UOB.
NEW YORK (Reuters) -U.S. stocks rose on Thursday as investors cheered a new trade agreement hammered out between the United States and Britain, while U.S. President Donald Trump signaled upcoming talks with China would be more substantial than initially thought. Britain agreed to lower its tariffs to 1.8% from 5.1% and provide greater access to U.S. goods as part of the deal, while a 10% baseline tariff on goods imported from the UK into the U.S. remains in place. Airline stocks shot higher after the U.S.-UK agreement exempted plane parts made by Rolls-Royce from tariffs, with the S&P 500 passenger airlines index closing up 5.4%, led by a 7.2% surge in Delta Air Lines.
FRANKFURT (Reuters) -German chipmaker Infineon Technologies reported stable order intake on Thursday but lowered its full-year revenue outlook due to uncertainty over global tariff disputes. U.S. President Donald Trump has said tariffs on semiconductor chips would start at "25%, or higher," rising substantially over the course of a year, but has not specified when these would come into effect, putting chipmakers in limbo. "Given that order intake still shows no signs at all of slowing down, we can only guesstimate the effects of tariff disputes," CEO Jochen Hanebeck said in a statement.

By this point, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has moved far beyond a novelty, and is now embedded in almost everything we as customers engage with. For HubSpot (HUBS), this is, in equal measure, a challenge and an opportunity. As a giant of the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) world, it’s no surprise to see it lean heavily into this new technology, but as investors price in enormous potential, anything less than perfection could be problematic going forward. I’m bullish on the company’s pros

Depending on who you ask, or where you read your financial news, the chances of a recession in the U.S. during 2025 sits between 45% and 60%. Little did foreign automakers know decades ago, when they were forced to team up with domestic Chinese automakers to enter the market, that they would eventually be creating a monster. With foreign automakers to learn from, and a government subsidizing automakers with a focus on developing electric vehicle (EV) technology, Chinese automakers slowly but surely became arguably the most advanced and most affordable EVs on the planet -- and one auto shines above the rest, BYD.
