A lawsuit was filed in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey on behalf of investors who purchased or acquired the securities of Merck between February 3, 2022 and February 3, 2025, inclusive, alleging violations of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 against the Company and certain of its senior officers.

According to the lawsuit, Defendants made misrepresentations concerning the state of vaccine drug Gardasil’s demand in China; notably, the Company lacked visibility into Chinese demand for Gardasil among eligible and otherwise targeted populations, resulting in the inflated inventory of its distributor, Zhifei.
